What is NiftiBrain?
NiftiBrain is a curated collection of open-access neuroinformatics and imaging data that makes it easier to browse brain regions based on functional, anatomical, and lexical relevance. The system attempts to bridge functional imaging, tract-tracing studies, and literature sources.
Please keep in mind, NiftiBrain is a single-person effort and is currently under construction.
Features
An fully interactive, 3D connectivity matriix. Find regions by correlation and proximity.
Visit Functional Matrix Viewer
A visualizer for probabilistic tract-tracing data from the Brainnetome Atlas.
Visit Structural Connectivity Viewer
Information about brain regions and brain hierarchy from the NeuroNames ontology, linked with connectivity data from the SciCrunch Integrated Connectivity Database (including a subset of BAMS, CoCoMac, and BlueBrain Bluima data).
View Regional HierarchyWhy NiftiBrain?
NiftiBrain aims to present neuroanatomy through connectivity, leveraging insights from both neuroimaging and traditional tract-tracing studies. NiftiBrain makes it possible to query related regions using proximity, functional correlations, and literature connections.
Neuroanatomy has multiple nomenclature systems, which can make it difficult to track information about specific regions in the literature. We aim to provide a resource that makes it easier to navigate and visualize the brain and follow new research.
